Diane's crocheted oblong blanket

Use a 3.5mm hook and 4-ply yarn, or 4mm hook and DK yarn in pale pastel colours, white or cream. Start with 15 ch.
Work 5 trebles into 3rd ch, 1ch *work 3 trebles into 3rd ch, 1 ch*. Do this until you get to last ch, work 6 trebles, 1ch into last ch. Now
work 3 trebles, 1 ch along the other side - join
Turn work around and work the other way
3 chain, 2 trebles, 1 chain. Then 3 trebles,1 chain till you get to 6 trebles on previous row. 3TR, 1CH, 3TR between 2nd and 3rd on previous row. 3TR, 1CH, 3TR, 1CH. Between 4th and 5th TR on previous row, continue 3TR, 1CH turning corner in the same way. Then carry on with 3TR 1CH in usual way until it is the size you want. Edge with one row of double ch, or desired edging.
